Listening to every heart

Through Others

It was a
            let Mom know
kind of moment, a chanced chat,
a beating of wings

She is older now
a quiet gasp was only felt,
chills of spreckled hair rising
on our arms ~
miles apart, we were, sensitive
she is older, and wise

No one plans a talk of heart,
no one plans a loss of depth
no one plans a new door opening

and she and she threw me back
to my small brief time of visit,
piano tinning me         here I am
a graphic art rumoring
in  the other room, saying
this was me, but I’m not here,
I'm here

and my friend sister host was not there,
no invasion of word, so I just listened
to the woman nee child
felt her strength gone great.

How do you tell a mother
her child has grown up…when even in real
we deny the growth, we argue an age,
not to shield ourselves, no…

but to keep innocence solid.

Bring it forward…and pray the child
grew into adult wisdom, the kinder mentor
of dream and sense, sensitivity and kindness,

she grew up…she’s a woman now…

Acceptance, unsayable.  Love knows
no bounds, in any woman’s heart.

~*~

To Michelle, and her Mother…
both of whom listen

She will love this...they both will...

A great poem from a grand woman...to one.

She is still a child, but a child of wisdom now. All the openness and ready love of a child, but she is also woman, with a woman's way beside the child's way, a woman's spirit within the child she will always be.

Martie, you are welcome...so very welcome.
A special connection, a wondrous moment
gave us that moment to know...

and we are grateful, those of us who understand,
that some connections are just never, ever
turned off.

Or forgotten...

You shared this in such a gentle way, dear Karilea.

Thank you for a precious moment.
