He is lost
his tower grey--
we are connected with black cord
knotted at the end/s

He searches for light on a path
with no end

he has my soul
I have the key
yet, I am the misplaced
heart upon his sleeve

symbols of what we have,
eyes with words in
some impossible green

He is alone
praying for clear skies
and dry earth
on his orange colored backdrop--
out of touch,
a fragment searching for placement

I turn the lights out and listen
as he feels his way in dark

because this is love
between the emptiness
of stars

~~*~~
I'm Standing on a bridge
I'm waitin in the dark
I thought that you'd be here by now
Theres nothing but the rain

Breathtaking Lauren..
I am, like Sue,..speechless after reading you.
Love ya lady~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

I am left, speechless
because I have read
and re-read these words
written by you sweet

You have NO idea, today
m'lady of just how much
and how closely this hits home

and lands in my heart.

Gawd Lady L~
You bring me to tears....

A lifeline is only a lifeline if someone grabs hold.  Loved this poignant exploration of a heart adrift.

*touching the screen*

I know this connection, and it's like being the tail on a kite cut loose to love someone who is locked into such loneliness...

Lauren I know I am taking the easy way out, but I'd like to say "ditto" to all the fine replies that your poignant poem engendered!

Loves 'n hugs,

I suppose this holds true for so many,
and your phrasing is exquisite as ever.

You've a beautiful heart and soul, Lady Lauren~

Laruen, this reaks of empathy and sorrow for a loved one...you wish so much they could see, your realize, the person you fell in love with, wasn't really that person you thought he was, actually, your love for that person, becomes a concern and pity, knowing what they are throwing away, yet, also knowing, we've got to allow them their journey...sometimes people never grow...and there is nothing we can do to help others...sometimes I believe by consentrating on our own spiritual growth, we will help others without words, but by being a living example.

I don't know if I've touched base on what you've written here, but, it's what this elegant write has sparked in my conscienceness....well done!

Beautiful as always, greeneyes. Thank you for this.

This is very good.

You use "I" only to gesture
to your subject.  The symbolisms
work very well.  It's a woman's poem.
I doubt a man could write it.
