Sylvia Plath & The Last Dance of the Baby Blues

Sylvia Plath and the Last Dance of the Baby Blues
I'm feeling around for my shoes
she's breezing through her designs on me
I'm breezing past the signs of the city
red lights tranquilizing my mind
green lights transmitting a code
of a ghost of a chance with her
I travel my heart, wandering down the road
wondering when the night became a blur
but please say I'm your buzzing bee
say I'm terrific and light up when you see me
stick to me like glue
you're the diamond in my rough
you've got the stuff to make my dreams come true

You in your butterfly bell bottoms
me in my gin soaked reverie
thinking about you accidentally
I'll meet you at the bottom
of a glass of bargain champagne
lady of my blissful pain
you've got the stuff to make my dreams come true

There's a scent of impending June
there's a cigarette fog over the moon
as she tips her neon halo to me
a glimmer in her eyes, such stormy seas
lady of the burning lamp light
I'll be your firecracker tonight

I just called to say I'll call you tonight
guess I need a fix
more than I thought I might
I'll sew you to my side
so you won't ever leave
I'll give and hope you'll recieve
I'll meet you, dancing, mystified
by the way the starlight falls on your face
give me a taste
give me more of you
and say I've got the stuff to make your dreams come true

You and the stars are true
you and the stars glow blue
you and your grace glows through my melancholy
my melancholy serenade
the sky is making love to the summer shade
and I'm making love to you
only in my mind
only every single time
my favorite things about you
your shine of morning dew
your Scorpio tattoo
your taste of strawberries and cream
the soft sweet way you
cradle me when I dream
held inside your dream
feeling outside my skin
I can believe again
in angelic love
what're you thinking of?
tell me what're you thinking of us?
before I catch this coast city bus
get your love sussed out for me
I beg of you now
can't you see
I'm begging you now
in the last of Friday's lingering light
I promise you I'll be your firecracker tonight
'cause you've got the stuff to make my dreams come true
it's more than good enough
it's all of you I'm living for
I'm all for you
and I'm just wanting more

Hypnotized by the faded light of the Seeburg
and lingering in my mouth, the taste of her
I feel around for my shoes
punching B-2
for Sylvia Plath and the Last Dance of the Baby Blues

I loved your words.

I always think these words need to be said.

"my melancholy serenade

You write with passion!

WOW!  This is a keeper.  There are so many thoughts and lines I could have copied!  Love your title, too!  Looking forward to reading more of your poetry.
