Too she was tired,
But my own fear for her and for the memories
I would write on my eyes were fragile as well
So I left her sitting by the Blue
Enjoying the sun and its heal
While I bummed a ride back for the old truck.

Easy enough to do
To make my way from where she was to the place we began
With strangers guiding old tires along ruts
Cut in rut washed tracks most people
Never begin to understand
Yet I watched out the window devoid of talk
Listening to the old man speak his own mind

I just nodded a lot, tried to smile at his jokes
While I craved the silence of her inside
With a want that left me struggling to breathe
Deep enough that I might sustain words
  And not weep
                  The Blue was not Lethe

2 hours later the truck was again leading me
down the same paths I had just followed
but in the other direction
           towards her and the beginning
of the end that this trip was

What that end was still unknown

I just knew it would be a long drive to take her home
And to leave again the Blue
                  Mercer’s lost charms

As well as the days and nights of watching her eyes
   Turn towards me,
                               Filled with something warm

My own then spilled errant
And I stopped to stain another page
With lines that lead one from the other
Like wire
                      Stretched taut
And carrying currents
                                        Some of Blue
Others
                        Of you

Yer gonna make me cry Captain!
(Excellent write sir)

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again.

Ron

Sometimes in endings, are new beginnings.  Sigh!  Love the way you write!

this just bleeds off the page....

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.
