The words I heard before
repeat the same as then
though strange the voice I hear
when the moon so lonely cries
in the blue of sky.

Then from sleep sun rises up;
could it be the fire of hell
uplifted from the ground
to make me turn around
and count the many crosses
above the graves of honesty.

The glare; how the glare
penetrates my mind,
and sets alight the edges
of my empathetic nature
but slowly, slowly, fades the fire,
sky returns to shades of blue,
and again all and everything
seems genuine and true
to a heart that must believe
in what the eyes cannot see.

Burn, burn, burn,
sun cautions me to go
and bury now the echo
of the words I heard before
but I did that yesterday,
it’s not my choice to hear
the moon so lonely cry
in the blue of sky.

But the sun doesn’t care,
the words are still out there
and I am forced to burn
until perhaps the moon
turns towards the graves
like I did yesterday!

Perhaps...there are days
that feel just like this.
Excellent work, Helen...

Thanks for the read, Sunshine.  Some days - yes, some days ... but thankfully they pass.

M -   Yeah - I find myself in a similar situation but I usually work it out in the end.  This one relates to the death of honesty amongst other things.  Thanks for the read.
