Seasoned Shadows Swirling

Legend says
We will stay in the hole
While rains will form
North, south, east, west…

Swirling is part of a sometimes
Seasonal conflict
Of winds not finding their direction,
Content to circle
Like wagons
Awaiting arrows
To release their waters.

When all is gray overhead
And shadows miss my footsteps,
I’ve no way to know
Which way the winds blow,

For tree limbs, foliaged thick, move
Up, down,
Back, forth,
Content to bend, as
Willows droop with weight of
Magnificent, heavy sighs
While water-born air
Soaks one’s thoughts

Legend says
Three times is a charm.

And shadows miss my footsteps
In certain seasons.

Kari darling heart sister, this is exquisite writing, sometimes I read your words and I’m left breathless. Mmmmm, this really is exceptional writing darling one. And see I snuck in and left a little drop of Mushiness just for you. *wink, do you miss me perchance? just because I don’t visit the open forum often doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten you at all, I simply come when you least expect me.

Truly one of your special ones darling heart

"When all is gray overhead
And shadows miss my footsteps,
I’ve no way to know

This strikes me as being a much deeper poem than it's beautiful surface reading, and my thoughts are with you....hang in there and watch out for the rain...for when it pours, it pours (as you know).  But, then there is Sunshine again!  Love you, jo

Karilea

"Legend says

And shadows miss my footsteps
In certain seasons."

The charm is in knowing when to begin and when to begin again, and dappled light.

ya had me from the title on..

Now...wheres part 2 and 3 and ....
cuz this one is just the begining...I felt much more blowing on that breeze.

I would love to live as a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.

Reminds me of a day that I found myself looking in the mirror wondering who the heck it was looking back at me.  Some aging tree, for sure.

Great write!
