A Susan Day

Maybe I need more than what I allow,
afraid of the hold it will have on me,
knowing I can become addicted so easily.

I no longer smoke, haven't for over twenty years,
and I can barely drink, and don't need to, since
I am usually high on life itself...

sometimes too much.

Behind closed doors, I seek the memories,
the only addiction I have at the moment
and I question each thought, to know the worth
of my path.

I am easily forgotten, left behind,
one of those fairy tales that no longer have
an happily ever after...
and I don't mind.

I am trying to find my fit, without squeezing myself
where I don't belong or am not wanted,
tired of the tug of war
of words that have no meaning.

Today I fear my feelings without the nearness
and I walk away wondering the meaning of
unconditional.

Okay, I think I have this figured out..

If we stand back to back we can fight off the forces of evil and hold each other up at the same time!! Deal?

You fit!  We all fit.  Sometimes we need reassuring, but we all belong.
Your life’s travels are a treasure, some bad, and some good.
Take what you want it all belongs to you, all of your past.
The future is tomorrow, and you can have that too, but you have to wait until then.

Beautiful poetry.  You are truly blessed.  Your writings explain that.  Just remember to be kind...
