Colored hues of yesterdays spring
Fade,
fade away.
I wonder if it’s just me,
Moving.
Too scared to take my eyes
from what is melting.

Justice?

Non-existent.

And I scream.
Oh bitter spillage of reality.

Starsky was my husband
when I played make believe.
He always treated me like a queen.

I knew no better then.
Didn’t know there were different
kinds of men.

Make believe is no longer a game
I play,
and I look for happy
as the spring fades away.

"cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind"
~Sarah McLachlan~

I feel this.  I hope you find your happy.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Reality has a way of doing just that, and so does time.

Great write.  Thanks for the reality check.

Which one was Spasky and which one was Starch.  Never could keep them straight.  Oh geez, he wasn't that short, chubby guy who rode the motorcycle, was he???
Ok, seriously...very cool write Susan.  The last verse is perfect, tied the whole together well.  And the title sets a good tone for what follows.  Don't think there was anything about this that I didn't like, how often does that happen???
Oh and nice spelling...

May your crown, crown your crown! ~ for that is where it belongs!

You are still a princess whether you are treated by others as such ~ or not!

May your life be filled with the freshness and newness of Spring!
