~* An Autumn In New York *~

Autumn in New York, a season that I simply adore,
All things seem to be dying to be born again once more.
Autumn’s palette of color is splashed simply everywhere.
Was there ever such beauty in death such as this,
As when autumn blows summer her last farewell kiss?

As I sauntered, the wind whispered her words to my soul.
Leaves danced in a sky of fire, as clouds turned to gold.
She smiled as she danced past me changing her season.
Was there every such beauty in death such as this,
as when autumn blows summer her last farewell kiss?

Like a child I kicked through the leaves piled high,
While orbs of fire sunk fast in autumn's sky.
I inhaled the perfume of autumn on the wind.
Was there ever such beauty in death such as this,
As when autumn blows summer her last farewell kiss?

I sat there and stared at her leaves so long,
Before I knew it I had written her this song.
I'm finding it hard to get autumn off my mind.
Was there ever such beauty in death such as this,
As when autumn blows summer her last farewell kiss?
~*~

To the natural healing beauty of an Autumn in New York.

She is always there here with me, as I always carry her in my heart.

Babygirl:  My heart will always be wherever Jenna lived, as she lived there, and here in Canada as well, but the best place of all - she resides forever in my soul.

You keep your Mom alive I see well too, and I sure hope to read more of your poetry, as I wish I could write like that about my loved ones.  Happy Fall to you!

Toerag:  Do you even get fall where you live?  I thought the farther south ones goes in the states the greener it stays all year?  I should have stayed awake in class I guess.   Thanks for read sweetie.

It does stay greener down yonder..but up here in the mountains it's lovely...Not the colors yall get up north, but larger variety of plants etc., so, more colors of different shades....I understand Vermont is still considered the prettiest?

Oh Mysty one - what beauty you've blessed us with.  I'm so glad you reposted this - it is wonderful.

Wow those are some spectacular pictures!!!

We don't get color like that down in Florida.     But we don't get ice and snow either

I really loved this!

All of those pictures are from the New York area, in New Rocelle, at Beechmont Lake where my friend, Willow/Jenna lived while she was on tour in the U.S. for 1/2 each year. Earlier today I read an extremely moving and well written poem by a new poet called, Babygirl, who lives in New York.  She too had lost someone dear to her through cancer, and I could not let that heartfelt read go unnoticed, as it stirred such feelings in me.  Here it is if you haven't already read it, and she is very, very good and just so refreshing to read.

Toe ~ Looking to see the vegetation down your way, and I have also heard that I should have visited Vermont when I was down that way, darn it

Thanks to everyone who came to read this again.  Mauh!

A note to Babygirl - It is I that should thank you, for you twigged a memory that had slipped away (they do you know and that is okay too,) for people like yourself will bring them into the foreground once every so often     Your mom left something very special behind I think - you, and your words.  I hope you will enjoy the site, they are wonderful people in Ron's world.
