                     Advice To Puppets
                (a poem in double voice)

Puppet, pull your strings         Please. It’s time.
surely you know how,        Only dust
heroes do this and               keeps you from
you’ve felt it haven’t you        the X of life
    felt the puppeteer’s        the handpiece,
remote connivance        dust, do you hear?
so many times      Grab the string
the tug like muscle      it’s on your hand already
like love                 its name is love
that fills you with         oh remember
a wooden dance        dance, they demand
of someone else’s       and you do while sticks
devising, the steps      hover, cruciate blimps
     you didn’t take,         rocking, rocking
the lift and hold          but not to sleep
that would be bone        pull it, pull until
power over your own        they come close
gravity, sparkle of           enough to grasp.
your gravid life.     Grasp them. Pull.
Seize it or lie there       Totter up, up
and hope for            rise or die
        a tomorrow that       before you’ve
        will never come.         lived.

Puppets are so poignant...wooden, yet given a heart it seems, by the puppeteer, or those watching as they seem to come alive.  Your poem is so well done...both voices, but I especially liked the one on the right. I like this new split way of writing you've developed.

For some reason
these lines hit me with such dramatic intent...

thank you, James...

Very interesting read, thought inducing.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Sometimes, two spectacular solo voices don't blend well... one overpowers the other... In responsive readings, one takes the lead... in sound and echo, the echo merely repeats and adds nothing. But both of these are so strong, so superb... and so utterly poignant. I love this, my friend... once again, you've taken poetry to a new level!

seems to me, after reading this master piece that both voices possess the same heart, two voices as one, to sing out great things...

sitting here in awe James, brilliant!
