I drop a pebble in the calm clear water of a creek, watching as the ripples expand and grow in soft circles.

Soon the ripples fade and the water stands clear and still as if the pebble never existed. As if there were no intrusion on the calm of the water.

I can see the pebble there, lying deep and still. The rays of sun shining down, caressing the pebble with shadow and light.

My heart has felt the ripples of love for you, your intrusion, and I wonder...will my heart ever stand clear and calm again.

Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all.

So true...when the ripple of love touches us we are never the same again...you describe it perfectly...
