And I See You

Sometimes,
when looking to the east,
when the sun’s rising,
I think of you;
the way you’d lay beside me
slowly waking,
trying to stay asleep.
You were beautiful then,
you wakened the spirit in me,
and I painted the day
with you in mind.

But this morning
I look at her laying in my bed
and  I know the spirit you awakened
was never alive.
She paints the days for me,
in vibrant, colorful hues of love,
she gives them feelings they never had before,
she opens my eyes and makes me see life –
life as I only dreamed it could be –

She lay's beside me in bed
when the sun’s rising in the east,
and I think of you,
the way you’ve awaken the soul in me.

She lays beside me,
opens her eyes . . .

and I see you.

Your words paint such a beautiful picure for us all to admire.

there is a single color,
as on an artist's palette
which provides the
meaning of life and art.
It is the color of love"

Simply poetic...

I would rather my words fall upon deaf ears than a closed mind...
