Never before have I floundered more…or was that flat?
Betwixt the dissertations or demands of this or that
Too fast I guess, too fleet like lumens in the river wells
Yet if a flounder to be had, what better dunk than in your swells?

You think me so contagious as to arm yourself a full sleeve length?
A salmon in the undertow, how would you know about such strength?
True blue and yet you disbelieve…the carp to scoff its stead
Perhaps afraid to be deceived might cap the nights mislead

Yet dawn arrives to find me perched upon the thought anticipating
Light floats the surf like chum in pink what seems a smelt debating
That all or nothing kind of style that leaves bereft the banks
Yet you are hear to listen in on all these bobs, so thanks

Now this is how I see it, sort of stern a port to pour
A partnership of subtleties in ever, always, more
The rudder and the jib to guide the worth of where to go
Yet I believe the salmon should consult because they know

As far as I can see somehow the path gets overgrown
And leaves us to be lost upon this journey still unknown
The more at home in water…me to dive and you to swim
To trail the bass and figure out what really chiggers him

The final and conclusion as I seem to find my cool
The trip to fish the answer may require summer school
No longer will I follow, flagging vehemence that runs a muck
Just by your side and hand in hand, got hooked, and now I’m stuck

TD,
It sounds as if you have a lot of knowledge in this area.  I'll have to get my
husband to read this, as he loves to fish.
Enjoyed.
