To Pillow

I pillow under the willow tree
With thoughts upon an argosy
Sailing to horizons bend
And finding that there is no end.

For I sail the sail of fantasy
To find the Isle of ecstasy
Back to Eden from whence I came
To bring me back the cargos blame.

The sea is rough with froth and foam
And thunder everywhere I roam
And sun bleaches white the spawn
To hide the place where I was born.

Now age has yellowed up the page
And phantoms form the bars of cage
And I am in a doldrums keep
With brine upon my cheek from weep

And catch less is horizons flight
In the day or in the night

I'll meet you in Eden under the willow tree,
you bring Randy...I'll bring the winkies.   *L*

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods.
There is a rapture on the lonely shore.
I love not man the less ... but Nature more.

Dear Seymour, after checking “argosy”, “froth”, “doldrums”, I am ready to weep now together with you ….. You always add to my English word treasure. Doldrums, doldrums ….
A wonderful, melancholic write. May the sun kiss you today so that you will smile again, Poet!
Love and hugs. Margherita

Sy, this stanza especially caught my attention:

Now age has yellowed up the page
And phantoms form the bars of cage
And I am in a doldrums keep
With brine upon my cheek from weep

J.R.R. Tolkien (or Gandalf) couldn't have put it better.
