The challenge was to go to the 12th form the top in open 31,,,andwrite a poem inspired by that poem....The twelth from the top for me was Dormant Buds,,,by Ice

When?

When will it happen?
Asks the preeteen gazing into the mirror
looking for the first blossom.

When will it happen?
Asks the young mother watching over her child
looking for the first step.

When will it happen?
Asks the lonely young woman tracing her finger
looking always for the band of gold.

When will it happen?
Asks the man pacing the hospital floor
looking at his watch, ticks between contractions.

When will it happen?
Asks the fragile young bud wrapped in winters coat
looking for Mother Natures sign.

As the Spring follows the snow,,,,,
it will happen,,,when it is time

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

I think this one needs a bump.

I haven't read Ice's poem, but I like yours.
It's always that question "when will it happen", lucky though we don't know everything on forehand.

Although it would be nice if they could tell me when I will win the 20 million

Very nice poem Michelle

Michelle, Darlin...
If you keep writing this good, I'm going to get a complex, and a severe case of self-doubt,and I'm going to stop writing.
Even without the challenge, this is the best I have seen from you.
Great Job.

Cause in my dreams it's always there
The evil face that twists my mind
And brings me to despair.

I agree!  Challenge suits you well.  This is my favorite of yours, too.  It depicts many of those waiting moments we all know or know about!   Good write!
