In the nature of the twisted vine
far away from an infernal mine
lie defintions of eternal lines
figures were depicted in their kind.

The spiral of the vine inspired a tendril motif
in the land of princes and the occasional thief
twisted columns grew in support of the pattern
glossed o'er by the light of a well oiled lantern...

t'was all relegated to a tenacious vine
that climbed in spirals its host divine
an art form grew, etched in infinite relief
a repeated pattern, with a tendril motif...

Especially liked the above stanza, Wordwizard!
