Desperate last breaths
I’m so scared of this.
Even if you’re greatest fear becomes your greatest wish,
So scared of this.

Shivering hand makes more sense
Than the driest of eyes.
Even if you’re crying, you will say it if you have to
Dry them eyes.

Pleading for another road
To grace with stumbling footsteps.
Even if you walk away, you know you can always find the way home
Run, run, run, no shadows to hide in.

A nodding head
Nods, though it’s first instinct is to shake and turn away.
Even if you ask for death tonight, you might find the light,
So scared of this.

You just got to see me through another day
My body's achin' and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
