It's greed, war, famine and pain
That plagues every aspect of my worn down brain
For now it is I can no longer see
The world as it is, or why I am me.

I've felt the cold breath of death down my neck
Been through the times as another nervous wreck
For now it is I can no longer hear
The words of the Gods whispering in my ear.

I've been down so low I've hated myself
Thrown it away, placed my life on a shelf
For now it is that I can no longer feel
The feelings of cold that are all so real.

I've known what it's like to want and not have
I've known what it's like to face down both halfs
For now it is I can no longer taste
The kisses and sweetness of the human race.

But I won't give up, life is too dear
Despite all the pain and feelings of fear
For now it is that I truly know
The deepest truths of my very own soul.

It's because of these truths that I will prevail
Despite both the forces of Heaven and Hell
For now it is that I will reign
Drowning away inside of the rain.

No longer does greed, war, famine and pain
Plague every aspect of my worn down brain
For once again, I truly know
The peace that comes with my darkened soul.

Verrrrry Nice, I'm planning to look out for your name from now on. Ending was awesome, I had two favourite parts. Firstly:

"Drowning away inside of the rain."

Clever. Secondly:

Ahhh, thank you all for your replies to this poem. It's been ages since someone replied to my stuff.
