my soul is an irish morning—
chilled dirt dragged through grass.

my papa says the sun will
make the dew warm

but my feet are caked with earth,
and the tears dry none.

last night was an irish night—
the faint of her leaving

grays the morning clouds.
does it stretch the spirit

, I wonder, to keep your
face paler than the night?

(big hugggsssssss) Awwwwwwww, this is such a gorgeous debut tinged with sadness, dearest friend, but may the Irish vale again sing with leaping rainbows and fiddles and love come to bring prism skies again, yay, God Bless You! Welcome to Passions, sweet Estel, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your wonderful words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Estel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Estel, Welcome to Passions!
Anything to do with the Irish,
well, heck, any good poetry at all,
is more than welcome by this reader.

I hope you find yourself comfortable
in your new poet's home...

Welcome to PiP.  Loved the line:

"does it stretch the spirit

, I wonder, to keep your
face paler than the night?"

Interesting thought--excellent verbiage.
