There's more to my story than meets the eye,
More to my reasons than those you know.
So much in my past that I've needed to hide,
So much that happened that I didn't show.

But the pages had turned, I was on track,
Then you resurrect the past to hurt me again.
The past had been buried, not to come back,
Now it's howling like a cold, bitter wind.

Words are spoken, scenes play in your mind,
Fiction unfolding as new pages are read.
Images they conjure create emotions to bind,
The sight of all truth escapes from your head.

Questions you have and you come to me,
Wanting answers from my life's book.
Hurtful accusations, why can't you see,
The reasons are not far if you'll only look.

Many have read the book of my past,
And their thoughts are not all the same.
Don't be so quick the stone to cast,
Take care to listen from where the words came.

We once again looked at the chapters gone by,
Some are still in the past wishing to wallow.
Now I'm in the future reaching up high
But Their lives may always be empty and hollow.

This book I've closed, So must they...
A new chapter I begin, each and every day.

Thanks Ethel..and yes, new beginnings seem to be a big part of my life. But that also means a big part of my poetry..lol. Thanks for reading my work, and for the comments... Ive been reading some of yours as well and I think they're just awesome.

I've always admired this type of rhyme scheme...and I love this theme!
