Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-12-01 11:33 AM

Leave me in the rain
In the winding wind
And waving leaves.

Leave me to the smell of the earth
And sweet decay of the forest
Where only I can dance
Between and through the trees.

Leave me to the mirrors of nature
To look in and through
Worlds past.

And leave me tasting rainbows
Stretching from one flower to the next
Itty bitty kaleidoscopes
For itty bitty leprechauns.

Leave me in the rain,
The winding wind
And waving leaves.

Leave me alone
To be anything
But lonely.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

KoKo,
Your poem was beautiful.  I especially liked this:

Leave me to the smell of the earth
And sweet decay of the forest
   Where only I can dance
   Between and through the trees.

Interesting--sweet decay.  Yes, I suppose it could be...decay is softening, too.

I enjoyed your imagery and movement very much.

Thank you, Sadelite

I guess when you spend practically your whole life around trees, the smell of decay becomes a comfort

Thanks again.

KoKo - rain cleans the soul when dancing in the forest. Thoughts are well...

Beautiful piece!

I feel like dancing in the forest on this rainy day now! Thanks for the inspiration.

You really take the reader on a journey into all the beautiful experiences that nature has to offer. Thanks forest fairy...
