Dr. LongJohn, the beloved cardiologist, had suddenly passed away,
Mourners came from far and near, to attend his funeral and wake.
Behind his casket stood a beautiful heart covered in flowers and bows,
To receive Dr. LongJohn after the eulogies, when it was time to go.

Dr. LongJohn was a beloved doctor, all the mourners cried.
The eulogists spoke of his unmatched skill in everything he tried.
When the final words were spoken, the heart opened to receive his cask,
And then closed again, sealing him within, until eternity had passed.

One of the mourners, Dr. Toe, didn’t wail like all the rest,
Instead he laughed and received questioning looks for his apparent jest.
“I’m sorry,” he said, “I was thinking of when it will be my time to go.”
“You see, I’m a gynecologist; and I was thinking of the casket for Dr. Toe.”

The mourners agreed, all of them, that it would be quite a sight,
Watching Dr. Toe after his eulogies, receive his final funeral rites.
But Dr. ‘Deer fainted away, as though he, too, had been laid to rest,
You see, Dr. ‘Deer was known by all as a practicing proctologist.

Heh - You see?  It IS important what vocation you choose.

You do have a way
of making jokes poetic...
and never are they
[well rarely] pathetic!

Oh, oh!  You asked for it now!  LOL, and we are all sitting here waiting for the retaliations to start!  What a present for us all here.

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
