at first
i'd thought it lost
but reflection
reveals i threw it away
it never quite
suited me
at least
not their definition
shackled and chained
in morals and practices
that mean nothing
but to fools
mired in time
who cease to
understand that spirit
is timeless

smiling.

I just had a talk with an elderly gentleman about sanity.

He told me there is a certain freedom in people's assumptions--now that he is old and considered "senile" he can be quite honest and speak his mind freely. And get away with it. He further confided that he's thinking the same things he always has, but now he delights in speaking "unedited."

smile.

and that is timeless spirit!

y'always get me thinking...

I am supposed to keep up with this?
You've nearly scared me off.

insanity is not a crime...remeber? I'd say a lot of things aren't a crime. but...umm.  yeah

he knows what I'm talking about..and life feeds on life? Wishing it wasn't that way but...

ever notice that all pink floyd songs are about drugs? I just noticed that. I must be stupid. or preocupied.

and if this interests you? i saw a billboard in a building today that said sleep deprevision is dangerous and unhealthy and people should get at least 7-9 hours a day. And if you are tired you are not getting enough sleep (no? i would never have guesed )ha...I laugh

interesting rambleings today. I feel like talking nonsense.

(sigh) I'd say sanity is a mixture of being honest, headstrong, free-spirited, and a bit reckless! (big hugggssssss) It's like Seal's song "But we're never gonna survive, unless we get a little crazy!" (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is deeply thought-provoking, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Raphael, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Raph,

I adore this and you know
the creed:

Normal is boring

This write is timeless in itself
truly
society weighs much too much
on what is and what should be
I often think that the people
going around smiling for no reason,
laughing to themselves and generally
acting out of sorts, just may be
the sane ones . . . think about it.

yes, spirit is timeless
beautiful job again, as always
xxoo

Wasn't it you that said, sanity is overrated?  You always cut to the bone, where the meat is tastier!

A sanity clause always should be dressed in red!  Personally, I left that one out of my contract.

Great write, Sir Poet.

Thank you for sharing it.

I think I will have a T-Bone,  Rare......
Then, while I am chewing through all of that
bloody meat.....I can sit there with it
hanging out of my mouth and that "What, who
me?" look on my face,  shrug and say "Paaah!"

Nice job Raph, you scored a ten ring on that
one.

Hmmmmm
Doesn't read like sanity/insanity at all.
Reads like the five letter "f" word, Western style, or make that Middle-East.
I threw it away too.
And glad of it.

Thanks everyone, if one's sanity is based on society and society is ever changing how can you truly determine what sane is. Sanity. morals and taboos are as fadish as fashin. Early in the century a woman wearing a skirt above her ankles was considered a harlot..looking back many of the things we once considered taboo seem ridiculous. blah blah
