Tips of ring
a circle spared
between the trees
an autumn breeze
like touch of hand
from breath to neck
I stirred in flowing cotton gown . . .

Do not mistake the look upon my face
when lifted up to the light-
the nostalgia
hidden in white
plain as the ground I stand on
I feel the circle closing around me

Leaves, drifting from tree
and branch of thyme
shards of confetti, remnants of life
fall upon my lashes, reminding me
for what once was
and will never be again
The burning has awakened
the air around me growing stale . . .

The taste that smolders on my tongue-
I remember the burn
the crumbling remnants of stone
I’ve refused to wake
for far to long

My dream becomes reality
the nightmare trapped in time

in the time it took to read
this thyme,
the spices of LIFE
bloomed again
to offer the sweetest scents
in a great blending of two fine poets
and I have received
a newly created, unique spice for my shelf

thanks, to both of you!
