Believe I would in ghosts,
and demons
and the dead into flesh,
my flesh, my head,
if I, unenlightened,
hold fairy tales as real
and harken unto wisdom
from the yet unwise.

Believe I would in magic,
voodoo, evil spells,
If not and only love
doth sever my filters
and flood through open channels
to my body parts
the raw and unrefined
emotion of the soul.

Believe I would in entities
walking, stalking, me
and feeding on my energy
like homeless vagabonds
If my own desire
acknowledged and made known
would exit from the stage of this reality.

Believe I would in death
were it not the living now
who infiltrate and permeate
the shadows of my mind
where lonely lives the essence
of unrivaled spirit strength.

Believe I would in agony
and tears from deep within
if to the side my heartache
would claim a far back seat.

Believe I would in them and they
unseen, invisible,
were it not for you and me
standing in the way
of guidance and of love
offered as a panacea.

Believe I would, I will believe
if you believe it too!

I like the feel of this, the way the language flows.

Thank you, QjQ and Pilgrimage, for reading and taking the time to comment.  Words flow like a river towards the sea filtered and washed through the essence of me.  I guess it must be something like that.

Wow...Helen...I love this.
There is a lot of feeling in this piece,
and it comes through in the read.
Wonderfully penned.

Thank you Vicky & passing shadows.  Life is tricky when there are so many things one can believe in.

Thank you, Joe.  Hope is the lifeblood of soul and people merely follow.
