Somewhere... out there...

Turn the Page...

When the story you are reading
Is the life that you are leading
And you find you're constant pleading
For a peace that is receding

When the answers are misleading
And it seems there's no succeeding
Simply know you are misreading

Turn the page

When it seems there is no meaning
And the tears are intervening
If it's towards the dark you're leaning

Turn the page

When the winds of change are blowing
And you're left alone in knowing
That the love's no longer showing

Turn the page

When it's peace your heart is seeking
Yet you constant hear the shrieking
Of the inner voices speaking

Turn the page

When the final chapter's pending
And there's no more use pretending
That there's wisdom in defending
What your heart is comprehending

Take the road that is ascending
Grant your spirit peaceful mending
Dip the quill and write the ending

awesome...no matter what you call the technique or form--this truly has a hypnotic quality to the meter--I could have sworn I heard Danny Kaye reading this as I followed along.

smile. It's got a great message, a groovin' beat, and I could dance to it.

I give it a 10.

Here ya go Miss Vicky, I told you I would find it and I did:

The movie is "The Court Jester" starring Danny Kaye.

The lines I were talking about are:

"The vessel with the pestle has the pellet with the poison and the chalice with the palace has the brew that is true,"

Here's the link, and if you like old movies? You should rent this one. 'Tis a classic, m'friend.

Vicky...you have several bests, and this should be placed with them.  I agree with Serenity - I was hearing a voice too, and she was spot-on in bringing in Danny Kaye's old movie...

You know when things are over...some folks insist on rehashing a paragraph or a page or chapter, but you have to know when to sign the page...and close the book.

And before you say it...yes, I'm still working on it!

Vicky, my friend, I agree with all that's been said up there above me!!

I've told you before, and I'll tell you again....you are one of the most talented writers I have ever seen in my life. Is there anything or any form of poetry that you can't write, sweet Lady? And everything I've read of yours has perfect words, meaning, rhythm...and everything else that it's supposed to have.

In this poem, you said exactly what needs to be said. I wish that every person could read it and learn from it....or at least try to learn. I'm like Karilea said...I'm not there yet, but I'm still trying and working on it.

Heart hugs to you, sweet friend
Ethel

I'll print this one and hang it right in front of me so I'll always know when to turn the page.

My God Vicky, this one goes straight to my heart and soul. Somebody should write music to this beautiful song.

Come here, you'll get lots of knuffels from me

So when I have gotten stuck in the past, all I had needed to do was to "Turn the Page"! Now why hadn't thought of that!

Wonderful write, Vicky!
