The way is found, the dusty winding trail
to shallow ground of souls to weave a tale.
A tale of yore, of olden ways and plays.
A tale of lore, of musty days and frays.
Where chivalry lies among old dry bones
and liberty’s cries smothered soulful groans.

As hammers pound the steel of purest ore
and archers trim the shaft forever more.
Where kings are crowned upon the glen and glade
and warriors yearn to find and bed the maid.

From castle peak to valley far below.
And vessel’s creak upon the harbor low.
Beneath the skies of black and starry blue.
Before the eyes in wait the bubbly stew.

And till the moon has set from waning light
the reveler shall dance the devil’s moon.
Into the gleam of sun in morning bright
as harps are plucked in time to lyre’s tune.

Barry, I love the rhyme in this poem. Poetry that rhymes is my favorite kind of poems...the rictameter is next. If I could just rhyme in rictameters the way I want to, it would make me very happy. I'll bet that would be mostly what I would write, then.

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Barry, this brought such strong imagery in my mind, dearest friend, I only wish Avalon could still exist today in this unforgiving world and again we could go back to that comely tradition! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, you seem to rejuvenate ashes with your heart, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
