The music drilling into my mind
Wishing it would just stop
That annoying tune repeating over
And over and over and over

Damn the parents that turned it on
The oldest tunes don’t wake me up
Like a broken record it plays on

I prefer the new heavy rock
That touches my soul
And speaks to my heart
Keeping me awake inside

Better then the stuff the old ones play
I prefer the stuff they say is bad
And makes you go deaf for a tad

And as the parents listen to the music of their children...they might say "darn the children" or something like that. Some generations definately have a gap...James

I remember those confrontations well - Now that I'm older, I realize that the music doesn't change, we do.

Music soothes the soul for sure and I do tend to like the biting edge myself

I like all kinds of music - this is a great topic to write about . . .

when you have kids, you'll play oldies too,
and they'll roll their eyes at you
and you will not have a clue
why they like what's hip and new
