“LONESOME CHORDS”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
I see a face glow softly in this morning’s light,
yet somehow inside me I know I’ve changed,
fading is the warmness I have once known,
my heartbeats somehow have been rearranged…
Wherefore I ponder have the sweet lilacs gone,
they weep silently now to be lifeless stems,
for in haste of cold a sensitive garden wilts,
its fragrance flows again only in my poems…
This night I feel the wood of a loving guitar,
six strings that take me into melodic harmony,
they soothe my soul listening to lonesome chords,
for my thoughts have become long and weary…
The notes poured the pages in their harmondy.
Look upon that garden, golden in the sunlight, and know that tomorrow always comes. TD
I can almost hear the blues of your guitar.  Bill, this is just lovely.
Soft romantic melody you're strumming tonight Bill.
Through the darkness
I can see your light
And you will always shine
And I can feel your heart in mine
I will remember you
Bill...This poem is so beautifully written   and so beautifully expressed. Sometimes, the face of the one we loved haunts us still. Yet, our hearts have changed course and beat in a different way. And, at times, those guitar strings that you strum can evoke the lonely notes that reside in our hearts. Truly you are exceptionally gifted at expressing your feelings in poetic rhyme or in a song. ***Ivy Rose
Bill:
although I dont like seeing you like this
you do write so beautifully
even in sadness
ans yes, I too find solace in even something such as a guitar
fading is the warmness I have once known,
my heartbeats somehow have been rearranged…
Amazing lines Bill
The act of sending one's feelings through the strings or keys of an instrument is in itself soothing...like nourishing a hunger that can only be reached through your fingers.  I understand and appreciate the thoughts in this lovely piece, as I too am a player...so play on...
