These jagged wounds,  not of flesh
but of heart and soul.  Deeply cut,
slow to heal and fade.

Forgive the hurt that they might heal,
forgive the words,  that they might
become deaf upon the ears.  Forgive
the anger,  that love may again grow
slowly within the torn soul...

For no word in anger was ever meant
to be.  For no act of harm,  of terrible
hurt was done to harm,  to hurt one
I loved.

Slowly,  wounds heal.   Slowly a smile
replaces a teaful frown.  Slowly love
returns to a shattered heart.

As leaves shall fall,  so shall the wall
of anger.  Unto the ground covered in
the glass of my house from each cast
stone.

Let those who are sinless cast the next,
for I,  my hands empty,  my upturned
palms await thee.

Your words fill my soul with such simple beauty, it is like a song, a picture, a sunrise.

Thank you for sharing with me.. with us all.

Jesus Barry . . . this is beautiful
and bittersweet . . .
My question is this:

when exactly does this occur?

Dang Barry.  I just wrote a truly bitter piece of love gone wrong. Yikes!  I sort of feel guilty after reading your piece of forgiveness. Truth is I wish I had forgiveness in my heart right now, but I don't.  I hope it comes.

Wonderful write!

Forgive the hurt that they might heal,
forgive the words,  that they might
become deaf upon the ears.  Forgive
the anger,  that love may again grow
slowly within the torn soul...

And sometimes... forgive yourself for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. *S*

Beautiful poem... touched me deeply. *S*

Oh, Barry. Such a sad write, indeed.
I will say a mantra of healing love thoughts for you, that you will find some peace and comfort as the days move forward in sadness rather than joy for you, and your household.
