You don’t know

You don't know how I look upon your brow
how I search for the pool of green in your eyes
even the gum leaves fall into them from trees above
they too want to dive into the very depths of you
I know, for I captured it.

There you lay and I notice the kiss
of sun upon your lips as they smile at me
the breeze tangled comfortably through your hair
the way your hand and the white of your nails lightly
rests upon that aged picnic table
how I wished I was it.

I remember the burnt leaves of autumn
how they swirled and danced the tango around your ankles
you don't know how the grass cried as you flicked it
into the past,
I know, for I captured it.

You don't know how the rain of tears fall at my feet
the way each drop bounces back up with a memory
spent with you:

You don't know how much I love you.

I liked the way there was a format... it was very cohesive, tied together well.

"you don't know how the grass cried as you flicked it
into the past,
I know, for I captured it."

Those were my favorite lines. "Flicked" was an interesting choice of words...
Well done...

If it's not the one she asked for, then may I do the honors?

Thanks for bringing back this memory...it brought back some of mine to match.

The camera lens merely captures the moment. The human mind however, has a lens of interpretation, through which memory is perceived, and feeling is fulfilled.

Simply lovely Maree, as always a beautiful write.

Thanks,
Billy

You captured the heart of a poet like a love song that blows through an open door.

Beautiful poem Maree~

Maree, this is just beautiful...so raomantic. I read the one Karen put the link too, and that is HOT, Lady. A very good poem, just as this one is. I'm going to be looking for your to post more of these romantic gems.
