Lay my head
On your thigh
Let me sleep
In peace tonight
Stroking my hair
When the demons
Come for me

Cradling me
To your chest
As I suckle
Your strength.

Sing sweetly
"Ave Maria"
To drown out
The pain
When I'm forced
To admit mortality
On oak rocking chair

Speak of futures
That will never be
As you lay me down
gently
Forever
In the antique crib
Of lost innocence.

Such a beautiful mixture of sweetness and sadness.
To your mother you will always be a child of innocence.

Wow!, Such a mixture of innocence, faith and hurt. Powerfully done.

Sweet and sorrow. A well done write.
