Time brings to air the fall of leaves
as poets write and poets die.
Where words are written of one’s soul
on feathered wings as eagles fly.

Words of soft verse, of prose and rhyme
Ever so light or brazen, bold.
Thoughts that lie quiet among the leaves
waiting to be touched, held and told.

Light the whispers of frosted breath
upon the pane of once clear glass.
As shimmers shake the shadows nigh
and lines do come as time does pass.

Softly the flake now falls to earth
as words are made in scrawl of snow
Becoming a flow of waters pure
as poets quill in words that flow.

A stream carries to rolling sea
passages written 'neath blue sky.
Thoughts and visions so aptly read
as poets live....as poets die...

Hi Magnus, You know there are just so many poems that are posted on this wonderful site, that it is almost impossible to find the time to respond to them all..

And that is a real shame...

But your poem here is really amazing...

Your words floated like a feather in the wind, bouncing on by, ever so gracefully...

I found it magnificent!

Absolutely Superb!

Thanks for sharing this thought, Barry.
It made me think of Madame Chipmunk.

I had the same reaction as Kacy.

This is so well-written...it touches deeply...

Magnus~

'Time brings to air the fall of leaves

Gently reminded me of 'My Warrior'- Soaring Eagle~

Also of Lyra and of Wilfred Yeats~

Thank you for this tender penning~

I love the rhyme scheme here. This kinda relates to a story that I read today, and one of the messages that stuck with me is that 'everyone's a poet'. This is great work.

Barry...I think a poet lives forever, at least words can, and some do...this brought a tear to my eye for those poets from Passions that have died.
