We are nearing provincial elections here and I thought I would pay tribute to all the wonderful saviours that are asking for support.

A DISTINCT POLITICIAN

He paused for a moment half smiling
the sheep with no sheperd were lost
and he had a knack for contriving
a pasture for the wool they brought.

Should his story fall into limbo
bold rhetoric filled with deceit,
curing the problem was simple
he'd promise collective relief.

The graceful changes he promised
he stirred into the media pot.
Supporters predicted him honest
opposers would credit him rot.

He talked a great deal with bargains
he'd market new schemes at no loss.
But the theme was weak and discharging
the plot imperious to cost.

For truth the crowd were groping
to get there they'd paid a big price.
But suspicion had anchored their hoping
he acted like Elvis not Ike.

With musical voice for tax money
he'd sing a song of ambition.
If nothing else he was cunning,
another distinct politician.

LOL, I love it!
I'd rather listen to most any musician than a politician.
