With a languorous stretch
You enticed stuttered syllables
From my lips
That refused to make words
In the normal way of lines
That from left to right
Read later of things
Remembered.

Some fell into the well
Of your chest as it rose,
Each breath a reach closer
To mine.

Some fell onto the floor
Where they swirled around
The feet we stood on
As if to wash away
The dust of miles

Others yet trembled
In hold to tongue
Wishing sweet form
To coax from yours
Those things inside
But hidden

The movement in me
Stock stilled
Even stammered thoughts
Put to end

I too
Extended arms
In reach for larger parts of me
I had yet to find
And wondered
Sublime

What is it like
To hold you?

Oh my. A beautifully written poem - nothing new in that respect, yours are always well done. This has such palpable longing it gave me goosebumps.

If you'll answer the question
so will I.

Your romantic side is showing,
along with a faint trace
of smile.

Ron,

In spite of stuttering...this is quite clear...reminds me in many ways of your another time....just a continuation of the want to with this lady...

Enjoyed the insight..

Yeah, right...tongue-tied poet....! I know from experience that when a poet is stammering for words, it's because stammering for words is the very best thing to say just then.....you wily fellow....

(big hugggsssssss) I know this feeling too painfully well, sweet friend, I still have never held a girls hand or even got to have a decent conversation with one and I wonder if I'm capable of love or if I'm just always 10 degrees south of the equator! (sigh) This is poignant longing, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sahring!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Hmmm.
I hadn't even read this poem before writing my 'stretch me' poem, but I felt myself stretching once again, in pleasure, with this read.
As always, you have a way of healing without pain.
Keeping this one.

OH GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!
How did I miss this yesterday????
you write the ache like few do.
(you know that I know)

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.
