A Gift of Contentment

~~*~~

I am connected to you
in a way I can't explain.
Tonight my thoughts
are run-on sentences,
a single thought running wild,
asking questions of you,
as if you are here to answer.

~~*~~

I have wanted
to give you a gift of me,
and then I laugh
as I have visions of you
unwrapping a calendar,
each month being faced with
Nakdthoughts, in a different pose.

~~*~~

I search in my mind
for little "triggers",
fantasies to entice, hoping
to get a rise out of you
and to keep me on your mind.
Yet, it is you that are
constantly on mine.

~~*~~

I look in the mirror and see
how flushed I am, how
just thinking about you, can at times
surrender me useless,
and the only thing I can do
is release my feelings into words.

~~*~~

I feel like I am on stage
and the world is watching,
to see if I can live up to these fantasies
or if I will have to abandon them,
out of failure.

~~*~~

Yet here I am smiling,
for no reason, other than
I am feeling rather contented tonight,
as I place the last of the lights
on the tree and view
my reflection in the window.

~~*~~

LOL! This is great, Maureen! We all have those little fantasies or plans on how to impress someone special. They are so much fun to have, aren't they? They stimulate the mind and put a smile on one's face at the same time....I like this poem very much.

Will you put me on the list for one of those calendars?

the_loner_23 ..thanks I am glad you enjoyed it.

Balladeer, well I am glad you got a laugh out if it. That's what I was trying for.

I wrack my brain sometimes, to have me on his mind...I really was thinking about that calendar, I have the program for one, but I lack the guts *s
And my handle was just too perfect not to use in the  poem. It was just a silly little write, because I am too tired to produce anything of substance.
Well if I make that calendar, I am not sure you would take it seriously.

Hi Bill,  thank you for reading and I hope your Christmas brings you peace.
