He said
"you speak in poetry"
and silence metered
over miles.

No.
I do not understand
how misery
becomes me.

Sometimes
I think
I need a pill
to level out
the highs and lows--
I need a man
to work the sound--
to rectify
the harsh of tone.

He said to me
"You're poetry."
I think that he's insane.

I do not have such discipline.
Poetry?
I scoff.
I'm pain.

Karen,  is this one of your days?  This
poem feels as though you just spent your
last quarter and needed thirty cents...

Here,  a nickel....

thanks nev, and Mag? I don't know why, but yuo just reminded me of a story, which I'll relate here, altho my sis would prolly kill me if she knew...(so...shush...you all who know her)

but one of her married names was "Day", and she had a son, also boasting the name of Day. We lived in one of those old New Orleans houses with the high ceilings, and the light bulb had burned out and she had to climb a fairly steep ladder to change it out.
Well, it was an old fixture and she was having trouble, so her son, scrambled limberly up the other side (rather precariously I might add) and STILL this durned bulb would not catch the thread in this crumbly old fixture, whereupon my sister had a fit of laughter, looking at her son, she asked, "How many "Days" does it take to screw in a lightbulb?"

I realize that has nothing to do with anything, it just amuses me. Grin.

Kind of makes me think of a skit on an old Saturday night live I just saw.

Repeat after me:

I am pain...but hey that's okay...because that is me and I am experiencing this. I am feeling every lousy symptom and that's okay.
Tomorrow I may be Happy ...and Hey.. that's Okay!!!!! *S*

Well, hope that helped a little *S*

really enjoyed your write, and the story about the light bulb....Too cute!
