In the Shadows of Passions

In the shadows of Passions there lives out of view
The other dimension of me and of you
The life of the poet from sunrise to dawn
The memories we harbor, the visions we spawn

The silhouette cast by the stars and the moon
Onto pages of friendship in luminous blue
Are but outlines of verses and dangling words
Strung in rhythm and rhyme to the tune of the birds

The arrows we’ve speared from the string of a bow
Just little remembrances tied in a bow
Flat stones we have pitched by the edge of a pond
Bouncing over the waters, notreaching beyond

The canvas is colorful, honest and true
But the artist still lurks in the shadows of blue
Withholding a treasure of uncovered strains
Of a musical ballad where essence remains

Undefined and unnoticed, uncharted, unseen
The piece to the puzzle that launches a dream
The feel of a hug and the fears of the heart
Of which Passions has not yet been granted a part

One dimensional shadows the stars can bestow
Paper chains cut with scissors and lined in a row
The canvas is flat, we have never been shown
What’s behind the blue easel to corners unknown

You can openyour heart, paint your life as a whole
But you can’t let me into the core of your soul

Elizabeth,
There are so many heroic lines I could not pick one out. You are a treasure that will
seed as long as eyes can read. Sy

In the shadows...  Good poem.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Oh Elizabeth! How encouraging your rhyme! Bold and beautiful, enough to clear the grayest skies of mental blocks. I always enjoy your wry and clever words, and this is certainly one of the keepers in my library

This blank blue canvas became a challenging goal
To use all of my crayons and warm up your soul.
I drew a rainbow, stars and sky of bright blue
And wrapped up this parcel from me to you.

This package of Sunshine will light up your day
As friends near and far stop here on thier way
To read a Santos sonnet on the pages of blue,
Is something most people each day just do.

We've made the flat corners of blue a little more round,
In sharing poetry between all the friends we have found.
So here's to square corners, crayons and friends,
Let's hope the bonds of poetry in Passions never ends!

Pssst...don't you dare count da dums either
