You don't even know it's there

Until you bite it

Looks so homely boy

Shut your mouth and hide it

Long, slick, thick

Pudgy yet narrow

Just lays there then goes

Forth like an arrow
refrain:     Does not the Lord say

My son let your yea be yea

             And your nay be nay
Runnin' like wild fire

Venom's its cargo

Smells so sorely bad

Boy you best gargle

It'll curse up one side

And on down the other

Say it sure didn't then

Turn on its mother
refrain:     Does not the Lord say

My son let your yea be yea

             And your nay be nay
With Sunday suit and tie

Singing high praises

Goes back home there

All hell it raises

Love you, Larry

Love you, Louise

Then bites their backs

With the greatest of ease
refrain:     Does not the Lord say

My son let your yea be yea

             And your nay be nay
It's waxin' elegant

Soundin' all together

Gets the digs on in

Explains it's just a gesture

We'll give account one day

For every word that's spoken

When the Lord says this oh man

He sure ain't jokin'
refrain:     Does not the Lord say

My son let your yea be yea

             And your nay be nay

This is a song.  With a great message on controlling that two-timing tongue.  Loved it.  Joyce

Thank you one and all.  I bow to the King.  Just wish I could get my tongue to do that more consistently.

I really loved this... our tongue is the hardest thing to control! I totally agree. I love how this is set up, especailly the repitition. It's very effective!

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee
