Sustenance

Some are shown but they don't believe.
Some believe but they don't obey.
Some turn to God as last resort,
Then cry that he has turned away.

The path that God has meant for us
Is straight and leads to Heaven's door.
Commandments set in solid stone,
And guiding Book to teach us more.

A gardener does not plant his seed,
Pick up his tools and walk away.
He watches over every plant
Provides its needs to grow each day.

He's waiting now with loving plan
To set you on your way toward home.
Not He who sent you far astray.
Your own free will has made you roam.

So willful child, pack up your toys
And take the hand God offers you.
His loving care is all you'll need
For steady growth, a long life through.

I love this, Joyce.  How true it is that we hear but do not heed.  Nonetheless, our Father continues to watch over and wait. The talk without the walk is of little use as a witness.

Thank you for the reminder.

This is beautiful, and so true. God is always there.

Never a truer word spoken about God and how we need to let go and let Him take control of our lives.  And if we don't do it willingly, why bother doing it at all.  This was a very positive poem and one that made you think about how you handle your life and how you let or don't let God take control.  Awesome.
