asleep, awake,
cinnamon-spice scents
of ovens then and now
wafting through
a thanking day

curled beneath
blanket sighs
holding the chill
of the warmth
I feel in you,
wondering
if your eyes
are yet soft closed

ah yes, my melancholy
Picasso in blue,
I do not leave you
alone;
I wake with you
and color
your white snow world
with the quiet leaf falls
of my autumn

I touch thankful today,
but I feel
you
and dream into
a someplace
I would rather be~~
