Listening to every heart

Watch the weather, it’s going to storm

They say that it is going to storm
they say we should watch the weather
but never was the thunder born
like the love that left me, ever
they say that it is going to howl
but it won’t match the ravage in my heart
they say its going to rain and pour
but not like this tornado that’s torn apart

What was left within me,
and what is left behind
a worn and careless mess
is all that’s left this time

They say there is a tempest a’blowing
my heart sure knows this to be true
you can hear it in the old cock’s crowing
as the skies get dark and lose the blue
and that tornado, well it snuck in tight
sucked me up and drew in the light
ravaged and savaged and threw me around
and then it as suddenly let me down

What was left within me
and what is left behind
a worn and careless mess
is all that’s left this time

Now I keep a careful eye on the stormy day
never will I again let it have it’s way
for I will draw behind me that old cellar door
and await the ceasing of the terrible roar
they say that it is going to storm
they say we should watch the weather
but never was the thunder born
like the love that left me, ever

What was left within me
and what is left behind
a worn and careless mess
is all that’s left this time

Ah the turbulent and destructive storms of life in love.
I like the use of metaphor with this piece Sunshine.
Excellent expression and wonderfully penned!

Karilea you must have been watching our weather forecast, we even had a powercut. There some bad weather outside and inside for me today, but you know all storms eventually "blow over". Enjoyed this one, and relate to it at the moment

(big hugggssssss) Oh Karilea, this is a wonderfully written re-post, love is meant to have some adversity but only to benefit if love can weather the storms and make true love stronger! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, this could make a great song, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sunshine, you have again painted a picture for my mind's eye. Yes, I have weathered many storms of life, but I believe that each storm we are able to endure makes us stronger and more alert when the next one comes around......even the unexpected ones. We seem to look for signs of them more. Living here in Florida, that's true with the hurricanes and it is certainly the same with the storms of life. Thanks so much, Karilea for this re-post.

Love To All,
Ethel

Karilea, this must have been some storm!

Thank you for reposting this; as always, I love what you write even though this one seems it was hard on you emotionally. Hope by now the winds have died down.

Hugs, Marti

Karilea - now I will be going around the house trying my best to sing..."Don't know why...there's no sun up in the sky....stormy weather.....since my man and I ain't together...keeps rainin' all the time." Remember that old tune?  This was an awesome write that you have reposted....thankyou..I wasn't involved with Passions to see it the first time round. hugs, Chris
