The Secret

There is a secret that stands before my face
It is as old as I and never moved its place.
And I have searched the fringes of my mind
And to myself, have really not been kind.

I looked within the stars and looked within my dwell
I looked within my heaven and looked within my hell
For I thought the answer impossible to me
And only come about, a time I would not be.

It is invisible I must admit that much
Although it is available to our very touch
And is a subject endless and endless in discuss
But stays within our life time and in our omnibus

It is an angel’s arrow in hot pursuit of love
It is a snow-white dove or touching velvet glove.
It is a faith so strong that nothing can go wrong
It is a soul that meets a soul and grows into a song.

It is the poetry I write, the wind to make me sail
It is the weight of love that balances the scale.

It makes perfect sense to me
What has often been said,
That secrets can, be kept by three
It two of the three are dead.

Your poetry is better and better as time goes on....(just wait till ya get old like me and see what kind of poetry ya write!)....Can ya keep a secret?

I hope I can say this the way my mothy mind intend.....
Part of what has always attracted me to your poetry is your vulnerable angst laced with a subtle sigh of regret for what you learned the hard way or the things you wish you could do again in hindsight..but then you always wrap the regret in your wisdom and lessons learned and your acceptance for what is just meant to be...change what you can...accept with class what you cant....
this write is a perfect example of that.
We then learn from your grace...
see how it all works out!!!
yeah....you balance our scales

She nailed it!  Janet Marie I mean, you DO balance your own scales, and that is what I have been trying to figure out about you all this time, that is it!  Not only in your poetry but your life.  NOW I am really going to listen to you, as there may be hope for me yet LOL, who knows.  This was one of my favorites, and I must read this one often.

Seymour  darling heart and painter of wisdom’s beauty once more your writing is simply stunning. Your ability to paint the picture with words dipped in poet’s translucent thought is so beautifully displayed here. Always you uncover the thought, and shading it in the perfect hue you frame it and then hang it high for us all to see.

In the who of you I see
Wisdom that reflects what will be
In life’s knowledge you’ve walked far
And you know all of what you are
Looking in the soul of this
I’m reading the intended kiss
The touch of truth that fills me
With your hope and your poetry
On your journey into sighs
Lift my soul into your dream’s skies
Let me listen to your soul
Learn what it is that made you whole
Touch the thought as it forms there
Believe in trust and learn to share

Truly superb writing, you know that daily your writing fills me with awe, always your writing is awesome, and this is utterly utterly perfect. I’ve been really busy the last few weeks but I try to pop in here to visit you, you are always worth the effort.

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Most of us have wisdom in some form or kind
But we look back or ahead and somehow stay blind
To what's right in our face, if we'd only see...
Which is why we love Sy's superb poetry...
For fine rhyme and soft cadence are only the start...
Seymour gives lessons straight from the heart. *S*

I know I've said it before... but I keep thinking I've surely read your best work... and then you slip another star into the lineup. *S* This is wonderful... and slipping into my library. *S*

It is not your poems that touch me so
It is not your wisdom that you show
It is not the silly things you write
It is but your heart,  your soul,
your guiding light....

Your gift is no secret SY...WE have known it
all along....

Okay, it's my turn to proclaim IWIHWT!!!!
I'm also gonna jump on the Sy bandwagon and say that this is an epopee!

Sy, I can say without a question of a doubt, that this is by far your best poem.  I always find such grace, introspection, truth and wisdom in your poetry. It's no secret, that you're one heck of a gifted poet

It's a keeper~

Take care,
Melissa~
