Riding the Burdens

I’m list’ning for the whispers
but they don’t seem to come;
I’m list’ning for the whispers
but the silence makes me numb.

I’m needing words of guidance
that will show me what to do
the kind of words I’m needing
can only come from You.

They’ll show me how to get through
this mucky, sticky mess
and then which way to travel
to do just what is best.

I know You’re here beside me,
You’ve promised in Your word,
yet I haven’t caught the whispers
in the silence that I’ve heard.

Am I not list’ning hard enough;
do I turn to occupy
this mind that’s in its spinning
to stand in faith’s comply?

If I ponder the hole
in the doughnut of my life,
I’ve hard time seeing
anything but strife.

Yet, if I focus on the doughnut
with its succulent allure,
how can I keep my senses
as You act to send a cure?

I’m sorry, Lord, I am,
from my head down to my toes;
it’s so hard to stand these burdens,
I need your power t’ward my foes.

My greatest enemy, I'm sure,
is myself.

:

(smiles) Just doing my 0's, 1's and 2's hunt and found this treasure! (big hugggsssss) In most cases our worst enemy can indeed be oneself, but all it takes is faith to overcome all foes! (kiss on cheek) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
