The Shores of Alone

I want to forget him, truly I do
He's gone, that is fact, I live with it now
All well and good to get on with my life
The only flaw in the theory is how.

At night, my dreams overtake my intent
He comes to me real as sun in the sky
Then longing controls my waking for days
Desire oppresses, I know not why.

Deep in my heart, I cannot let him go
my arms weep to hold him closely within
I long for moments in time that are gone
Is happiness just somewhere I have been?

Is happiness just somewhere I have been?

I have often wondered the same thing Sandra, and have come to the conclusion that we make our own happiness...
I truly enjoyed this piece.

Sandra....not an unfamiliar feel...and it
often doesn't seem to just fade and go away.
Something always seems to bring it back to
our face...  Excellent write...enjoyed..

Dear Sandra, another sad piece, but enjoyed.

There are moments when crying can help clear your sight
Your honesty haunts you and knows what is right
There are many afraid to just try something new
But Sandra that’s something that you’ll have to do

The living on past is killing your soul
You must make amends to make yourself whole
Forgetting the ghost which now haunts you each night
Ask your heart to let go and to do what is right

For out there there’s someone awaiting your love
And someone to bless you does wait up above
There are years yet for sharing and worth every fight
For Sandra, fate knows that it should do what’s right

I wish you all the luck I can wish.

Sincerely Rick

Try to empty your recycle bin of the heart.

Oh but I felt this poem and thought that Rick's response was excellent Sandra.  However, it is sure easier said than done, and time heals all.  An emotional write.

Ah Sandra, I have known this feeling....to many times.  I do agree with Rick, happiness is out there  somewhere, we just need to move to the present to get there.  That is the hard part  sweetie.   hugs to you.

Sandra I don't know that we can ever make ourselves feel it......maybe sometimes we just gotta sit back and let it happen.  You are a treasure Cat, hugs to you.
