Between midnight thoughts

Fire caresses my skin,
Flames of endearment soothe,
My flesh which hates even my bones,
Every moment away from you.
My mind makes my eyes a liar,
For in every image I see,
You moulded into its figure,
Be it a rose, a stone or a tree.
I hunger for a glimpse of your countenance,
That your grace may nourish my being,
And I curse the scourge of your absence,
My most unrelenting of fiends.
The wind wafts your scent to my nostrils,
And whispers your name in my ear,
So that my eyes scrutinize my surroundings,
When your phantom voice I hear.
Alas, time moves on crutches,
Stifled by lonliness, I suffocate in its tomb,
Won't you slake my thirst just a moment,
Take this empty glassed heart and fill it with you.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Gabriel, I understand just how you feel, lately I've missed my sweetheart Joanna so very much and just wish she could be beside me and I can be filled up with her smiles! (sigh) This is lovely and sensitive, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Gabriel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Oh my, this is beautiful in the passion of yearning for that which one cannot have.  I have lived this, as I’m sure many have. Wonderful writing.

Absolutely superb! I can pick a favorite line but would have to go back and find it, but yes, there are exquisite lines throughout!  Well done.

btw, I posted a question to your response to my "After the Frost."

Here's my favorite because it is dynamite!

My flesh which hates even my bones,
                       Every moment away from you.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
