each morning wakes me
to the colour of the dawn
and I kickstart the day
with multiple activities --
offsprings of a million thought cells
guessing results by processing inputs
like climate and weather…

(will it rain today?
should I take my umbrella
or is it going to be warm)

like multi-threaded programs
of the modern computers,
simultaneously reacting
with complicated computations
using corridors of communication --
some wired by fixations,
others wireless and mobile

(each day feels like
a dozen talk-show hosts,
all talking at the same time
voicing opinions
some cluttered,
others crystal clear)

sometimes I feel like
a modern washing machine:
plug-and-play buttons
on the outside
and a hundred thousand chips
on the inside
that proceed to perfom
the complicated task of
doing the ungainly job
of cleaning dirty laundry
of cleaning someone else’s mess

(and that someone even has
the right to complain)

yet beneath the layers of
the mysteries of modern science,
I have been told that
the computer is quite dumb
it only knows ones and zeros --
the language of the binary

then why in the name of the ENIAC
do we make it more difficult?
why can’t we keep some things simple?

(like they are meant to be
just like you and me
when we were 3 and 4
or maybe even 5 or 6)

kiss: keep it stupid & simple

or is it "keep it simple, stupid!"

thanks for reading...

I could do it, but it would take hours to write this responce in machine code.

Words may be more complex but they are a lot better when it comes to expression, I am sure you as a poet would agree.

Good Work,

I know this feeling well. An excellent poem. I enjoyed it very much. Indeed, why don't we keep it simple? We as humans seem to want to complicate our lives. A quirk I guess.
