Is this how it ends
wrapped around a light post
burnt out in a storm
flickering on and off
real slow and steady

without a word.

Simply falling from the sky
scattered pieces of stars
broken apart in silver slivers
cutting through the silence
vanishing from all thought
as if they never shown
deciphering the day of reckon

without a word.

Speared by lightening bolts
cutting through an icy storm
winters past mistakes hitting hard
turning bitter cold
difusing the season
when all along the forecast was bleak
chances are it wasn't going to change
and in my heart of hearts

I knew.

Promises of a summer day
just for you I heard him say.
You were the temperature rising when it wasn't
and I believed in you
because I wanted what you wanted too

sometimes love isn't always enough.

Is this how it ends
demeaning the season of passion
of those who have come before and after
to dance with you in the rain
trying to stay ahead of the storm
keeping you covered
holding their breath with their eyes closed.

Praying for a break in the clouds
rationing the warmth
looking for something that isn't there
sucked into a hurricane
drumming to your rhythm

twisted and broken.

Fused by the energy touching down
for all the wrong reasons
without a care
snowed in by a fire that burns
warm and cozy

did you feel it too?

Is this how it ends
shivering in the cold?
Humble me with an honest word
I'll get past this
slow and steady like it began
and I'll no longer dwell
for I've a light in my heart
that flickers in the dark
and will never go out
despite the weather
that threatens to change~

This is so very well written, Lori...

but it is very very beautiful

Deeply moving emotions displayed in these words, especially
quote:
Humble me with an honest word
I'll get past this
slow and steady like it began
and I'll no longer dwell

We all need closure in order to move on don't we? Beautifully and tastefully done Lori!

Blues

From all the storm of words, the light shines in you strong.  I really like the strength spirit you show here.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Lori, I too certainly hope this is not personal but if it is, yes, hang in there and be strong, for you are destined to find a new beginning which its loving afterglow will last forever! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
