I dip into a memory-
(stale and slightly hurt)
of unpardonable silence-
surrounding life’s concert…

I shake the sweat-
from trembling hands,
less I drown
before
I understand…

You told my eyes-
of compromise,
said some things
are better left alone…
felt the lie twisting insides-
marked question in your tone…

Asking of her memory-
(the one that came before me)
You shied right by
my scrutiny-
knocked instead
(upon a door)
of clarity…

Silent battle reigned in time-
(you then drown me in detail)
Cringing then, my hopeless find-
Realization that I’d failed…

Currently-
I’ve been informed,
(due to my reckless nature)
of romantic
past adorned
within her
perfect stature…

I know not
what would have been-
Had I never let you in…
Creeping you
inside of me
Now all is different
in love you see…

Childish, yes
that I may be…
still silently-
I condemn
the one that came before me…

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

(big hugggssssss) Oh Tanya, I'm so very sorry about what lied in your past, sweet friend, keep your chin up now and look ahead, for there is much promise and all that obscurity will disappear and your memories will become crystal clear, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tanya, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Never fun having to be second,  when you
are supposed to be first....

I have to tell you that you write quite,
quite well.  And this poem is no exception.

Never fun being the second... (or third or fourth or ...) But I mean the second big love. There's always a presence of the first hanging around...

Very good poem.

Feel my angsty reachiness!

Another gem from you, memories are teasing things that keep us up at night, eh?  All too often I regret the mistakes of past and am ever thankful for the present.  Perhaps poor decisions turned out with present pleasings: *waves at Caiya*

And I know, I know -- I need t' start writin' in Adult again. :p
