Is it a defense mechanism That makes us reside In our own little worlds? Is the pain Too much to bear With the belief That others are really there? Is humanity's Ingrained selfishness not about greed But fear? Are we all so Afraid to acknowledge That other people Are more than just Extras in the cast of My Life? Perhaps we need this Fear of people. Perhaps we need To ignore The importance Of another's life. Because when they die Or let us down It hurts much less. Love, |
